How This Year’s Melbourne Cup Carnival Will Be A Very Different Spectacle

2020 has been a year many would rather forget. But it’s great to see horse racing and the Melbourne Cup Carnival continuing on, even without the crowds.

Most of this year’s spectacle will happen virtually, with the Victoria Racing Club (VRC) announcing a new dedicated Cup Week website:

Those who love heading to the track to celebrate all things racing and fashion, will this year do so from their front lawn or backyard.

The interactive site will bring the Carnival’s top attractions to life including the world-class racing, entertainment, fashion, food and wine Cup Week is synonymous with.

VRC Executive General Manager Caroline Ralphsmith said the dedicated site is a must visit for all those missing the on-course action at Flemington Racecourse this year.

“Cup Week 2020 will be like no other but we’re thrilled to bring the magic of the event to everyone in Australia,” Ms Ralphsmith said.

“This new site is your one-stop shop for all things Melbourne Cup Carnival, from the latest racing news to what to enjoy for lunch on Lexus Melbourne Cup Day.

“It’s designed for our valued members and all our other usual on-course patrons to connect and engage with us, as well as attract new fans to Australia’s original and most treasured major event.”

We can’t wait to be back at the track in 2021!
